Meet the Academy Committee Members

Linda Bourne - Co-opted Academy Committee Member

I joined the Governing Board as a co-opted governor in May 2018 having formally worked as a Maths teacher and Head of Lower School in the latter half of my over 20-year career at RMGS. Both my children attended Rainham Mark and when I retired, I wanted to maintain a connection to the school as I had enjoyed my time there so much and wanted to give something back.

I have been Chair of the now Academy Committee since September 2023. I carry out monitoring visits and write reports regarding the Quality of Education and Careers. I feedback to the CEO and Chair of Trustees through the Quality of Education Committee.

I enjoy attending the many and varied school and Alumni events staged throughout the year, and in reading the achievements and activities of students through the RMGS newsletter.

Louise Cox  -  Co-opted Academy Committee Member

I have lived in Medway all of my life and both of my children have been educated at Rainham Mark Grammar School.

I have taught mathematics for over 30 years and am currently employed as a Deputy Headteacher in a local secondary school.  During my career, my responsibilities have included leadership of mathematics departments and oversight of whole school teaching and learning, staff development, outcomes, post-16 and recruitment of trainee teachers.

I joined the Governing Board at Rainham Mark Grammar School in 2018 as a parent governor and now act as a co-opted Academy Committee member and vice-chair.

Fay Fautley  - Parent Elected Academy Committee Member

I enjoy being an academy committee member at RMGS because it gives me a great insight into all of the amazing work that is done by the staff and students at the school.

I have a background in primary education so it's really interesting for me to see how a secondary school works. I admire the commitment and dedication of the staff and students at RMGS and being an academy committee member is really rewarding!

Stephen Funnell - Parent Elected Academy Committee Member

Being part of the Academy Committee at RMGS is very rewarding. As a father with five children in different Rainham schools, I see the local education scene from many angles. This helps me bring a broad view to the committee.

I really value understanding how a great school like Rainham Mark works day-to-day and planning for its future. Working with the SLT and other committee members gives me great insight into everything that makes the school successful. I also enjoy representing parents. My experience with different schools helps me to understand what matters to families locally, and I can bring those ideas to our discussions.

Most importantly, I enjoy being part of a team that is dedicated to making Rainham Mark the best it can be for all students. It's fulfilling to contribute to the school's progress and help to ensure that every child has a great education.

Kasia Moore - Staff Elected Academy Committee Member

I joined Rainham Mark Grammar School as Cover Manager in June 2022, and have now enjoyed 3 years working in what is a wonderful team at the school. I am privileged in my role to work with staff across the whole school, in both teaching and support functions.

I have responsibility on the RMGS Academy Committee for monitoring the Pupil Premium Grant, and ensuring that it benefits disadvantaged students.

My career after University has included roles in marketing and sales, management and team development in the retail sector. My daughter is a student at RMGS.
