Travel to School

* All Travel Passes are available through the Local Council and not via the School *

Medway

Young people who live in Medway can apply for a Medway Youth Pass. The pass allows them to travel at a discount rate on any local bus service.

There are two types of pass:

  • Under 16 pass valid for 3 years or until the young person finishes Year 11 (whichever is sooner)
  • 16 to 18 (Year 12 onwards) pass which expires when you reach the end of the academic year after your 18th birthday

Journeys must start in Medway and can be to any destination in Medway or Kent.

For single journeys before 9am, show the Medway Youth Pass on the bus to get a child rate fare. Child rate fares are available in the afternoon automatically.

Kent

The KCC Travel Saver and KCC 16+ Travel Saver are bus passes that can save parents and pupils up to 50% on the cost of travel to and from school. To apply you must be:

  • A resident of Kent (whose household pays Council Tax to a Kent district/ borough council for Kent County Council services)
  • At school in years 7-11 (KCC Travel Saver), or 16-19 years old and in academic years 12-14 (KCC 16+ Travel Saver), whether the school is in Kent or not.

For most student’s journeys this pass will save you around 50% of what you might pay for an annual season ticket from a bus operator.
