The Dr Keen Library is announced

Past, present and future Alumni come together to celebrate the Dr Robin Keen Library

On Thursday 17th July RMGS welcomed some special Alumni guests to mark the naming of the Dr Robin Keen (bottom left) school library. Previous and present staff and students attended the Library Naming Celebration where a flurry of guest speakers enlightened and inspired the audience.

Mrs Hart opened the event welcoming everyone whilst also highlighting the importance of both our present, past and future community. Linda Bourne recalled some wonderful memories of the school and paid particular attention to the period when Dr Keen was here. Malcolm Gaskill (bottom right) delivered a wonderful speech on the “Power of the written word” which captivated the audience. Alumni Mike Harris followed this with a fascinating speech detailing the History of the school from 1964 – 1996, which uncovered some brilliant gems of knowledge.

The speeches ended with an inspiring and nostalgic talk from Dr Keen himself, recalling his journey to becoming the Headteacher at RMGS. Amongst all of these speeches guests had the pleasure of listening to some outstandingly moving musical performances from students;  Emily B, Sophie E, Dan B and Charlie R.

We thank everyone for attending and look forward to hosting more events in the future to help support and develop our Alumni community
