Contact tracing over half-term holiday

Dear Parent/Carer,

The Department for Education has asked schools to continue to assist with Covid contact tracing for the first six days of the half-term holiday (up to and including Thursday 3rd June), in a similar way to the arrangements over previous holiday periods:

1. Parents/carers of students need to inform the school of a positive case where the student developed symptoms or tested positive within 48 hours of last being in school using the temporary email address: covid@rmgs.org.uk
2. The school will then try to identify possible close contacts so that they can be advised to self-isolate, as the individual may have been infectious whilst in school.
3. Where a student develops symptoms or tests positive more than 48 hours since last being in school, you do not need to contact the school. Instead, you should follow contact tracing instructions provided by NHS Test and Trace.

I very much hope that you all remain healthy and Covid-free over half-term so that this plan does not need to be invoked.

Yours faithfully,

Alan Moore
