Oxbridge Evening - 20th March 2019 at 7pm
We are again holding an ‘Introduction to Oxbridge’ Evening on Wednesday 20th March from 7pm in our sixth form study centre – there will be directions on site for you to follow.
We are in the fortunate position of having two excellent speakers from our partner colleges: Dr Andrew Thompson, the Admissions Tutor from Queens’ College, Cambridge, and Nathan Stazicker, the Outreach and Communications Officer from Hertford College, Oxford. In addition, we are hopeful that some students who are currently at Oxford or Cambridge will also be on hand to answer questions and offer a students’ perspective of the specific process of applying to either of these universities.
Our guests will cover a variety of topics but I have asked them specifically to provide information concerning what the universities are looking for in a potential applicant, the nuances of the application process and interviews. It is likely that they will also talk about finance. However, although the talks will last for no more than an hour, our speakers have kindly agreed to stay for a short time afterwards to try and answer more specific questions; I will also be on hand to try and answer any questions you might want to ask.
The evening is essentially one for obtaining information and involves no commitment at this stage, although any student who is even remotely considering an Oxbridge application is strongly advised to attend. Parents are welcome also; in fact in many ways this evening has been designed to inform you as much as the students who will get continuous support throughout the application process.
To help us in our planning please complete and return the reply slip by Wednesday 13th March 2019.
