These fascinating write ups describe what it is that our successful and professional previous students have gone onto do, in their own words.

Sam Carey

Get to Know more about Public Relations

RMGS 2020 leaver Sam Carey shares the details of his PR Higher Apprenticeship he has gone onto, from his call centre work he was doing before gaining this exciting opportunity.

‘I’m enjoying it so much. Speaking to the media, government and public every day so always something creative to get involved in with some amazing clients’.

My company is Hill+Knowlton Strategies: https://hkstrategies.co.uk - when apprenticeships are available they’ll just be on the regular job page!

My training provider is the PRCA: https://www.prca.org.uk - the worlds leading body of PR professionals and they have a host of apprenticeship and industry info plus they advertise any PR apprenticeship vacancy that they have with themselves (a lot through the year).

In terms of my company, H+K Strategies, we do not have a set intake/cohort of apprentices each year as we are the first for the company. However, the PR apprenticeship has been running for a while. Attached is the ‘H+K London New Starter guide’ which outlines the best bits of H+K – very useful. Again, here is the website: https://hkstrategies.co.uk

The PRCA (the education/training provider) have also just sent me some useful links and documents. Attached is the ‘Get to Know PR’ pdf, which gives a great background into the industry. Also a few helpful links – their Youtube channel is full of great vids, here is the link to a playlist: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3R3hNOCO6bQ&list=PLFbmHnAKMXiKWQvTnz5Ry-ERJgg9aueU2 And here is a link to the apprenticeship section of their website: https://www.prca.org.uk/careers/pr-apprenticeship

Sam will be contacted for careers events, and can be contacted by email in the meantime for those with an interest in Media and PR who would like more information.

Please email sjobbins@rmgs.org.uk so I can pass on his contact details.
